Commercial Siding and Residential Siding Installations

Our talented crew specializes in Bellingham, WA siding installation, serving Whatcom and Skagit Counties for all of the single-family, multi-family, and commercial projects we build. In addition to these projects, we occasionally have spots for siding-only jobs or are able to serve as the subcontractor for large commercial or multi-family construction projects led by other reputable general contractors. Though space for these projects is limited, it never hurts to contact us to see if we might be able to fit your siding project in. Please note, however, that we do not take smaller projects, such as partial siding replacements or siding repair.

If working with us from start-to-finish for a comprehensive design-build process, our team of skilled designers will help you select siding that meets both the demands of the weather and the style of your home or business. We specialize in:

Fiber Cement Siding

We install a lot of James Hardie fiber cement siding. Our fiber cement siding in Bellingham offers durability and can tolerate the excessive moisture we get in the Pacific Northwest. It’s resistant to pests and James Hardie siding has a Class A fire rating, the highest rating for fire-resistant building materials. At the end of the day, we feel good recommending fiber cement siding to clients, because we feel it achieves the quality and durability our clients deserve, suits our climate, adapts well to both residential and commercial applications, and comes in variety of styles:

  • Plank Lap Siding. Plank lap siding is a practical choice for many projects and is often paired with shingle/shake siding on craftsman style homes.
  • Board and Batten Siding. Board and batten siding works well in a variety of applications, including achieving a Nordic style or farmhouse look.
  • Panel Siding. A growing choice, panel siding is frequently selected for contemporary PNW homes.
  • Shingle/Shake Siding. Shingle/Shake siding can be a great way to achieve a cottage or craftsman look or can be paired with other types of siding to add texture and interest.
  • Artisan Siding. Hardie offers several options in their Artisan line that can enhance a variety of popular aesthetics from contemporary to coastal.

Wood Siding

Real wood has a certain spirit to it that can feel enchanting yet grounding. There’s a certain nostalgia to it. Though it doesn’t offer the same durability or pest and fire resistance as fiber cement and can mean more upkeep, it continues to be a selection many clients turn to – even if for just a portion of their siding.

Cedar lap siding paired with fiber-cement panel siding sets this contemporary Pacific Northwest custom cabin apart in a unique and high-end way.
  • Cedar Tongue and Groove Siding. Frequently used in soffit applications, cedar tongue and groove siding can also be a great accent option to achieve a woodsy feel to a contemporary home. It can be oriented horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
  • Cedar Lap Siding. Our Cabin in the Woods project is a great example of how cedar lap siding can be paired with Hardie panel siding to create a high-end and dreamy exterior.
  • Shou Sugi Ban Siding. This siding is pretty special. It comes from the ancient Japanese wood-burning practice of Yakisugi. The burnt finish preserves the cedar or cypress wood and offers an eye-catching patina available in a variety of natural tones. Though developed in Japan, Shou Sugi Ban siding is a great finishing touch on any Nordic-inspired architecture.
  • Other Styles of Wood Siding. Wood siding can be used in all of the same applications as fiber cement. Because wood simply doesn’t offer the same bounty of benefits found through fiber cement siding, it's important to consult with our local Bellingham design-build team to see if it makes sense for your project.

Metal Siding

For commercial projects in Bellingham, WA, metal siding installations are a durable and fire-resistant option.  Commonly used for both modern homes and large-scale buildings, metal siding offers some similar benefits to fiber cement in that it has a Class A fire rating, is highly weather-resistant, and resists pests. It should be noted that metal siding dents and scratches more readily than fiber cement or wood siding, but there’s a lot to love about it.

  • Aluminum Siding. Aluminum siding can come in a variety of forms, but we’re super partial to aluminum longboard, which is quickly becoming a star in the residential building scene. Its wood-look is classy and modern and can serve as a great accent when paired with other styles of siding. We love how this aluminum longboard was incorporated into the Samish Contemporary home we built.
  • Copper Siding. A pop of copper siding can be an exciting way to accent a dormer or entrance on a building. Initially bright and shiny, it will change and get that classic green-hued patina over time. If the patina is acceptable to the property owner, this type of siding can last an extremely long time.
