This older home was originally occupied by a boat builder and features many classic craftsman elements. The main focus of this remodel was a new kitchen and new master bath with French doors, tile flooring, and a walk-in shower. The smaller powder room was also remodeled, converting a bath into a stand-up shower with an integrated bench, and new hex & dot tile.
The kitchen received a storage overhaul, with a custom wine rack installed into the sides of the cabinet to utilize unused space and maximize bottle storage. New appliances include a microwave drawer to keep the countertops free from clutter and create more working space. The backsplash tile lends a hint of modernity while the classic white subway tile backsplash lets the beautiful custom cabinetry shine and brightens the kitchen. Tasteful paint colors and fir trim maintain the sense of the classic craftsman design.
For even more storage, we expanded the pantry into the laundry room, saving space by installing a stacking washer/dryer set. The build in cabinets and laundry sink create a utilitarian transitional space to the exterior patio.
Incorporating new features into the original aesthetic of a home is a passion of the Highline team. We integrated new flooring to match the existing maple floors, and the stylistic changes we recommended were all inspired by the shape and design of the existing space. In the finished remodel, the materials and design elements flow seamlessly throughout the space.
