Occasionally, a remodel is needed in a home in order to fully realize the potential the space possesses. To utilize and reflect natural light through the elegant glass walls, this modern condo received a full kitchen and wet bar update. The remodel of the kitchen space in this home was nothing short of transformational. Opening the floor plan and creating more kitchen work space were priorities for the clients, as well as updating the finishes to accent the modern structure of the building, itself. The lack of obstacles in front of the glass walls softened the space, allowing natural light to reach every corner of the condo.
The kitchen island commands impressive views, looking out over the living and dining areas through the two story windows. Working with existing structural steel posts, the formerly small kitchen was divided into two separate kitchen islands, increasing countertop work space while also utilizing the area without making it feel crowded.
Quartz countertops and quarter sawn walnut cabinets modernize the space, bringing a sleek, clean aesthetic. The slab panel doors of the cabinets further this minimalist look, along with the monochromatic stainless hardware and appliances. The quartz countertops were installed with a 3” mitered edge, achieving the enchanting illusion of a much thicker slab of material.
Travertine tile floors complete the modern, luxe space while also serving to delineate the kitchen area from the living and dining room spaces. The light shades and natural materials selected reflect the natural light, creating a welcoming indoor space.
While we focused mainly on creating a scenic and spacious kitchen design for this project, we also updated the powder bath. The minimalist, modern theme continues, matching quarter sawn walnut cabinets with frameless, full overlay drawer and door fronts. The white quartz countertop is accented with a large vessel sink and modern wall mount faucet. Small mosaic hex tiles and a custom fully framed mirror complete the space.
This refreshing and modern condo contained the potential, and Highline Interiors helped to bring out the best natural aspects of the space, opening up the formerly cramped kitchen design and creating a dream home for the clients.
