Lake Louise Remodel

GREG ROBINSON ARCHITECT

Some remodels concern themselves with specific areas like the kitchen or the main bedroom. They are contained, focusing only on two, perhaps three areas of improvement. A replaced floor, perhaps, or maybe new cabinets. Not so with this project.

In this contemporary Craftsman home, we did an extensive remodel spanning from the kitchen to the driveway to roof to the foundation. Interior and exterior, nothing was left out in this stunning and detailed overhaul. The main architect, Greg Robinson, showcases his skill and attention to detail on this project. From the custom alder door to the gorgeous window trim, this intensive remodel has it all.

To start with the exterior, all windows in the house were replaced and refitted with the Andersen E-series. The deck is entirely new, added during the remodel. A BBQ grill was installed, and TimberTech composite decking was used, as well as TimberTech impression railings. And for a fun accent, deck tile was used in the Tuscan Medley line from DekTek Tile. Without question, this gorgeous custom deck is the jewel of the backyard.

New exterior siding and trim was added to match the existing. An additional two-car garage was built to add storage and complement the house. A stamped and custom colored concrete sidewalk and patio only contributes to this house’s street appeal; truly the exterior was not neglected during this thorough remodel.

To continue with the interior, we certainly aren’t limited to just the kitchen or the bathroom. Most of the interior doors were replaced with Rogue Valley Doors in their Rustic Series. A multi piece custom alder trim and stain work can be found throughout, framing all doorways and openings with a custom touch. These kinds of details really make the entire remodel sing; the grace notes can be found in places like the trim. It was replaced everywhere in the house with Knotty Alder trim and baseboards, giving the space some much-needed consistency. Additionally, most of the flooring in the home was replaced. The kitchen, dining, entry, hallway, third bedroom, stairs, family room, and multi-purpose room all got the Aspen Hills Kraus Naturally Aged Flooring. The kitchen received a total overhaul, the kind that even Gordon Ramsey would approve of. White cabinets, dark trimming, gorgeous white marble, and natural flooring create an aesthetically pleasing environment fit for hosting dinner parties. The pendant lighting comes from the Uttermost Vitalia collection and can also be found in the staircase and dining room. All new appliances and hardware give the space a needed lift; details like the backsplash really bring the space together (MSI Angora Framework subway tiles). The barstools perfectly match the decor, and the island provides all the counter space needed for meal prep, cocktail hour, or arts and crafts with the kids. For those wondering, the countertop and island is from Caesarstone in Cosmopolitan White. A favorite installation has got to be the cabinets; the custom Canyon Creek Monterey cabinets fit the space like a dream and even have under-cabinet lighting. You can find them here. Without a doubt, no detail was spared in the remodel of this home’s kitchen. If the kitchen is the heart of the home, then this heart is in perfect working order.

Before we finish with this beautiful project, the bathroom upgrade must be mentioned. New hardware and fixtures were added, but the star of the show is the unique and stunning turquoise tile. It acts as both a focal point and a color accent, and can be found on Tilebar’s website in the Cavallo Fiji Arabesque color.
