Marblemount Hatchery Netting Expansion

WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE

Project Overview

When the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) needed a general contractor to install the I-beam structural supports for netting at their Marblemount Hatchery, Highline Construction was proud to take on the job. Our team thrives on projects that enhance fish populations throughout Skagit County and Whatcom County, WA.

Protecting Fish Populations

The new 300′ × 150′ protective netting helps prevent bird predation and safeguards young fry until they mature for release into the wild. This essential system strengthens local conservation efforts and supports long-term fish sustainability.

Integrated Civil and Carpentry Expertise

This project brought together both our civil construction and carpentry teams. Heavy steel I-beams were carefully positioned by our equipment operators, then precisely secured by our skilled builders—showcasing Highline’s ability to handle complex commercial construction projects efficiently and safely.

Collaboration with WDFW

Partnering with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife highlights Highline’s reputation as a trusted public works contractor capable of meeting strict environmental and structural requirements on time and on budget.

“Highline exceeded our expectations.

“Communication was constant, honest and clear. Trevor and his crew were all friendly and professional.  They listened to our requests and delivered.

“We are thrilled with the quality of work! The project was on time and on budget. We will definitely be recommending Highline to our friends and family.”
