build | HIGHLINE CONSTRUCTION
After years of supporting Lydia Place fundraising events as part of our commitment to give back, we were honored to get involved in a more robust way. We were pleased to be selected to execute the build portion of their Gladstone Office remodel designed by our friends at Zervas Architects (Bellingham, WA). The well-known Whatcom County non-profit’s mission is to disrupt the cycle of homelessness and nurture healing and belonging for current and future generations.
As Lydia Place has grown, they’ve expanded to occupy more buildings to support their array of programs. A big consideration for this remodel was creating a trauma-informed space that would feel more homey than corporate. With this priority in mind, it was a pleasant surprise when our team demolished an existing wall to uncover a lovely brick fireplace. The Lydia Place team was equally excited about this discovery and decided to keep the fireplace. Though non-functional, it certainly adds a cozy feel to the group meeting room. For more confidential meetings, the remodel included five private offices.
If you are involved with a non-profit in Whatcom or Skagit County in need of new construction or a remodel and want to work with a local general contractor dedicated to doing right by our community, contact us.
If you are in search of a local organization to support financially or volunteer your time to, there are plenty of great non-profits to choose from. However you decide to engage, thank you!
