Multigenerational Farm House

PRECISION DESIGN

Highline Construction had the privilege of building this gorgeous farmhouse home to fit the needs of a multi-generational family. The house needed to be built to allow the grandparents to live downstairs while the parents and grandkids live upstairs, with unique spaces on each floor to satisfy the need of each generation of the family. This custom home has a unique layout: three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, and two bedrooms and two bathrooms downstairs, with two kitchens, one on each floor.

The downstairs kitchen was crafted with care, featuring custom butcher block cutting boards and HanStone Quartz counter tops. Power strip task lighting helps make kitchen prep easier, and all appliances are a part of the new GE Cafe collection. Pental tile backsplash complements the modern design. The contrast of dark and bright colors gives the kitchen both a clean and cozy feel, with plenty of space for meal prep and entertainment. The overall aesthetic is matched with custom flooring from Bamboo Hardwoods.

The grandparents of this family are looking to retire in this home, so we made it our priority to ensure a quality finish for this home’s creation. Wide windows let in plenty of light, and dark wood details round out the clean lines and richness of the downstairs space. The entrance to this home is wheelchair accessible, and a flat patio area gives a wide area of mobility in and out of the home. All bathrooms and showers are wheelchair accessible as well. Nothing about this multigenerational home seems crowded; a wide living room, dining room, and kitchen layout opens up the body of this home. With updated bathrooms, spacious bedrooms, and custom fixtures, this farmhouse will be a comfortable home for years to come.

Upstairs, the details just get better. The layout was changed to better suit the needs of the family, with the kitchen blending seamlessly into the living for better entertaining space, as well as a place for the family to gather in the evenings. The upstairs kitchen is fitted with LG appliances and a recessed ceiling mounted hood was installed. A bedroom barn door allows closet access. Nickels cabinetry unifies the color in the kitchen and ensures quality, lasting storage. The laundry room doubles as a mud room, with a utility sink preventing any kid-induced messes from getting past that one room. Beautiful flowered wallpaper in the bathroom provides a pop of color and pattern amid the modern aesthetic.

Working with Precision Design and Highline Interiors, Highline Construction was able to create a multi-generational home that will last for years.
