Thompson Creek Box Culvert

When Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group reviewed this site along Thompson Creek in Rockport, WA, it quickly became evident the original culvert that was placed there was undersized and destined to fail. When it did, it created a partial barrier to safe fish passage. Advocates for all things fishies, we were excited to bid this project and knew we had the expertise to get every detail right.

The scope of work included the installation of an aluminum plate arch culvert to replace the undersized culvert. This required excavation, erosion control, trucking, water diversion and stream bypass, dewatering, culvert assembly, and stream channel construction – These are a few of our favorite things!

We take great pride in the opportunity to contribute to projects like this one, projects that restore habitats for the fish and wildlife who call Whatcom and Skagit Counties home.
