I did not plan on becoming a designer when I accepted a job with a design firm working in logistics, rather it fell into my lap one day when the showroom was short staffed.
Having working in sales and retail for many years it felt natural to fill in and start assisting clients. Next thing I knew I had 5 jobs going with satisfied clients when I realized I had an eye for design. I enjoyed the work so I started exploring every design resource I could lay my eyes on. This included books, design shows on television, trade shows and online courses, soon I was designing full time.
Further years of experience gave me the opportunity to work with new clients, broaden and sharpen my skills and experiment with emerging design trends and materials. Before long, new and former clients were asking me to work with them on new projects – this was exciting.
Fast forward twenty years and I am right where I want to be, working with homeowners and professionals on great projects.
